Anti-Pinch Mechanism for Power Windows
In this demonstration, We as Crevavi team have prototyped. The anti-pinch mechanism of power window for system safety protection feature.
Anti-pinch mechanism is the one which detects the obstacle present on window area and reverse the window direction accordingly.
The block diagram of designed Anti-pinch system is shown in figure.

It can be seen from the video the movement of power window without any obstacle controlled by the window regulator switch for its upward and downward movement.
Further when the Object is detected the increased pressure on window triggers elevation in current, when current reaches its threshold level, which halts the window upward motion to prevent damage/injury. For this system to work the hardware setup includes, Automotive grade micro-controller, DC motor, Motor Driver, Current sensor, Dual switch, 12 VDC supply and Window regulator Kit. In future this will be enhanced as when the ignition is turned off by reading the position of window, automatically all windows must be closed.
